monomedia berlin:value

monomedia berlin was a conference on the cultural changes posed by new media. The conference was organized by the Academy of the Arts Berlin (today Berlin University of the Arts), and took place on 12 - 14 May 2000.

In the context of new media, debates about value or values are increasingly triggered and monomedia berlin posed the essential questions:
what are the issues of a new economy and how much is it developing alongside the Internet; is there added value for the user and the producer - based on how new media and its applications are designed; how do new media offer new systems of measurement and evaluation? And, not least of all, what are the primary issues surrounding change in our central societal values as it occurs alongside technical evolution.
